HIFU FAQs

What is HIFU?

HIFU treatment (High Focused Ultrasound) is a Non-Surgical, no downtime in-office procedure, for lifting and tightening sagging skin. It can include areas of the lower face, cheeks, jawline, neck and around the eyes. The ultrasound technology is focused below the skin surface to firm and lift droopy skin tissue.

How many HIFU sessions will I need?

The majority of clients only need one treatment. This depending on how much laxity they have and their body's own biological response to the ultrasound and collagen-building process, however, some may benefit from more than one treatment. (It's like going to the gym, you can’t build muscle if you only go once)

We do recommend a maintenance program 6 to 12 months apart, which include a Mini HIFU this can be done 2- 3 months after HIFU skin tightening, this will help the memory of the muscle and the skin texture.

How long does it take to see results and how long do they last?

After your HIFU Treatment, the initial effect you is slight plumping, but the ultimate results will take place over 2-3 months. As your body naturally regenerates collagen, it continues to work over 6 months. We are ageing every day so with any anti-ageing treatments we do recommend a maintenance program the results are better each time you have the treatment.

By adding skin treatments in-between to help the skin texture and reduces fine lines can be a large improvement.

How does it work?

HIFU uses High-frequency ultrasound beams which are focused on specific site tissue at different depths to stimulate and tighten collagen and muscle fibres. Each probe has a different depth — For the face the physician delivers 2 passes one with a focal depth of 4.5mm one with 3.0mm — One HIFU session for each patient is about 400 to 500 shots, depending on the treated area and size. The radar handpiece is smaller to target around eyes and mouth. The 1.5mm probe is the mini HIFU Glow

Is there downtime?

Since the high-frequency ultrasound beams are focused on a specific tissue site below the skin's surface, there's no damage to the upper layers of the skin and adjacent tissue.

Who can have it?

HIFU may not be appropriate for everyone, depending on the age of the client and the skin elasticity of the skin. We recommend having a consultation

Can you do HIFU on the body?

The increasing search for procedures for fat reduction is related to dissatisfaction with body shape. High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) has been proven effective in body sculpting when used noninvasively to reduce subcutaneous fat and improve body contour.

It’s not made for a weight loss but more for the stubborn fat pockets you can’t get rid of.
Also fantastic for loose skin on the body such as tummies, arms, love handles and back fat.

Is body HIFU permanent?

High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) heat energy is to permanently reduce subcutaneous fat (the stubborn fat that sits above the muscle and below the skin). It also works to tighten the skin. You can zap an impressive 20% - 40% reduction in fat in one treatment.

Body HIFU will need to be repeated 2-3 months after depending on the area and size of the unwanted fat pockets which will determine how many treatments you will need
